Words about me (Pfff… is a sculpture juxtaposing two sheets of paper in a frame to explore the dissonance between the actual body and the words imposed upon it. On the left, typical anti-Asian racial slurs are printed like a three-line poem, while on the right, a copy of my medical records is filled with unintelligible English diagnostic terms. Together, they reveal the hidden power structures of modern systems, where language and knowledge work to govern the body, unveiling the alienation and dehumanization that institutions impose upon it.

Words about me (Pfff… 는 두 장의 종이를 액자 안에 병치한 조각이다. 왼쪽 종이에는 전형적인 아시안 인종차별 발언이 3행의 시처럼 인쇄되어 있다. 오른쪽 종이는 알 수 없는 영어 진단명들로 빼곡한 나의 의무기록 사본이다. 종이의 단어들은 자신이 지시하는 대상(몸)을 잘못 지시하고 있지만, 이 오류는 다른 때와 장소에서도 체계적으로 반복된다. 이 조각은 지극히 일상적인 상황에 숨어 있는, 언어와 지식체계를 바탕으로 작동하는 근대적 통치성을 드러낸다. 동시에 자유와 평등, 분별력과 지성, 발전주의 이면에 있는 근대성의 허상과 내재된 차별, 소외를 다룬다.
